Chicago White Sox lose to Milwaukee Brewers 0-1 – MLB Recap
The Chicago White Sox lost to Milwaukee Brewers 0-1 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Friday, June 22 at U.S. Cellular in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Both teams’ starters played wonderfully however, the Brewers starter Zack Greinke earned the victory for his team by pitching in right areas with accurate speed.
He finished his nine innings’ spell with great precision as he only received three hits with no score while maintained his 2.81 ERA.
"I felt better as the game went on, I was a little off and on early. Got some breaks. Some line drives hit at people and then I kind of settled in a little bit. You don't have long innings, You just come in. You get your five, 10 minutes, just relax a little
and you're back out there. Sometimes, you get in more of a rhythm when there are no long innings." Greinke said with confidence on his pitching which certainly gave the Brewers a superb win.
Later the Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said on his team’s tremendous win, "I see why his record (8-2) and his ERA (2.24) are where they are, He's really funky along with great stuff.”
White Sox’s starter Chris Sale also pitched well with his eight innings as he went scoreless on four hits.
It was a low scoring game but still both teams played enthusiastically. The Brewers scored only run in the 10th which also proved ultimate for them.
In the meanwhile, Milwaukee at the moment is one place ahead from the Astros in the National League Central with 33-37 win loss along with .471 winning percentage.
According to current situation, the Brewers are not at very good position. Their chances are low to qualify for the post season but if they do start winning and achieve minimum .500 winning percentage, then there would likely be a tough competition among
the top three in the National League Central to play the playoffs.
White Sox’s however, are sitting quite comfortable at second position in the American League Central Division with 36-34 win loss and .514 winning percentage.
