Chicago White Sox lose to Minnesota Twins 6-7 – MLB Recap
The Chicago White Sox lost to Minnesota Twins 6-7 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Monday, July 30 at Target Field in Minnesota.
Minnesota played better than the White Sox and earned a great victory after showing a deserted performance. They not only started well but they also finished the game on a high note.
Twins’ entire pitching line-up performed wonderfully and achieved the victory with style.
They took the lead early in the game and later held on to it until the last innings play which certainly was one of the winning factors for the Twins.
Minnesota's starters as well as their itters played exceptionally well and never showed any loop-holes in their game which could have given advantage to the White Sox.
Instead, the entire Twins’ players came together as one unit. Leading their team to a steady win, the Twins' hitters played with big energy and eventually edged past their opponents with a one-run advantage.
Starter Cole De Vries despite gave five runs in just five innings, he was still able to win the game for the Twins.
He allowed seven hits and four earned runs while he also struck-out three on his 3.98 ERA.
“I dug myself into a pretty good hole there, It was one of those games where I didn't pitch as well as I could've obviously. It was nice the rest of the team did what they did helping me out," De Vries said.
On the other hand, White Sox starter Jose Quintana allowed six runs and ten hits while he also allowed four earned runs on 2.80 ERA.
“The most important part is my arm, and my arm feels great, Today, going back to it, I made an adjustment and from now on I'll look into doing that," said Quintana.
Later Pierzynski said of Quintana, “He was just up early, As the game went on, he got better. We talked to him about getting ground balls. He started getting the ball down.”
Quintana could have played better but his fast the curving pitches seemed out of colour as he could not save the game for the Chicago White Sox.
