Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura gets ready for his first season – MLB News
Robin Ventura, with no past managerial experience is still very hopeful for his first season as the Chicago White Sox skipper and getting ready for the 2012 MLB competition. He has started to meet certain players of the franchise and getting to know the
roster’s overall situation and trying to understand every player’s weaknesses and strengths.
Ventura, on the other hand has also been involved in White Sox official meetings. Recently, the White Sox management also took an initiative and held a press conference in order to introduce the club’s 39th manager where owner Jerry Reinsdorf
was also present including general manager Kenny Williams and White Sox director of player development Buddy Bell. They all appreciated Ventura and gave him confidence to lead the team in the 2012 MLB season.
Buddy Bell, who had also played with Robin Ventura as a team-mate when they both featured in an All Star game in their playing days, spoke to the media on a question regarding his current relationship with the entire White Sox roster.
He said, “That’s a great question, one of things about bringing in Robin, there is instant credibility there. [New coaches Joe] McEwing and [Jeff] Manto are guys who’ve been in the organization. The only instructor our guys haven’t been around is Mark [Parent].
There will be a transition period.”
The White Sox coaching staff was completed last month and is now fully determined to enter in a new season to make a point that despite not winning and losing many games last season we can still bounce back and show the league some sturdiness in future.
On the other hand, the White Sox new team manager Robin Ventura also possesses the ability to surprise others with his extinctive fighting spirit.
It will be interesting to see what type of impact Ventura will have on the White Sox club, as they look to having a successful 2012 season. Ventura will be looking to come out strong and aggressive in the early part of Spring Training to show off the potential
skill and talent in the White Sox team.
