Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura shows confidence in Jake Peavy’s plays – MLB News
The Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura is happy on the performance of his starting pitcher Jake Peavy who played a crucial role in the latest 4-0 win against the Oakland Athletics.
Peavy improved his 3-0 with only four hits along with two walks and five strike-outs. Peavy pitched without any fear against the A’s designated hitters and came out victorious in the end. He gave enormous confidence to the White Sox bullpen for first three innings in which his fast curving throws damaged the A’s hitters at start of the game.
"With Jake, it’s just a stuff thing, where he’s blowing people away," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said. "It’s just pitching."
Later, Peavy said on his recent performance with quite confidence, “That was a good feeling. I made some good pitches and was aggressive early. Those two homers helped and A.J. did a good job. I’m just blessed to be healthy. That’s all I can tell you. I go out and just try to compete. I didn’t know if I would ever do it again.”
Peavy is currently playing with an ERA of 1.88 along with 3-0 win loss record, 26 strike-outs and 0.73 WHIP.
Peavy, a former San Diego Padres’ ace pitcher, knows his significance in the White Sox franchise. After Mark Buehrle left the White Sox and joined the Miami Marlins this summer, the White Sox started looking at Jake Peay and his well balanced potentials of being a new main pitcher for the franchise.
On contrary to Jake Peavy’s latest performance, the Chicago White Sox are having mixed 2012 season winning also the important three match regular series 2-1 against the Detroit Tigers.
In the meanwhile, this is a healthy sign for the White Sox as their one of the key pitchers is getting in shape early and if he continued his aggressive throws after the mid season break as well, the chances are high that South Chicago franchise will be playing the post season competition.
