Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura shows confidence on infielder Gordon Beckham – MLB News
The Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura is showing some enormous amount of confidence on his struggling infielder Gordon Beckham.
Beckham, a three-year veteran in the Major League Baseball is not playing well in this ongoing MLB competition. He is hitting with no power and still to hit a homer in the ongoing season.
However, the White Sox manager Ventura is giving confidence to Beckham as he recently stated in the media in favour of his game explaining why at the moment he is not performing up-to the mark. He further described and told the media with self assurance that he will pick up his pace soon. "It’s early in the season," Ventura said.
Ventura added for his player, "You’re looking at a guy who is competitive and wants to do well all the time, there’s a certain give and take as far as being aggressive and being patient and relaxed. He wants to do well, and I understand that. And I trust him. It’s not that he’s not a good player. He’s a great player. It will come."
Beckham, who is considered one of the best trusted players in the White Sox roster, has tremendous career numbers of hitting .246 along with 33 home-runs, 156 RBIs and .316 OBP.
Though currently he is out of form and playing not up-to the expectations of the team, but still he possesses the extraordinary skills which will help him to make a drastic comeback soon.
On contrary to Beckham’s performance, the White Sox are sitting quite comfortable at the moment. Coming into the season on April 6, they lost the first three-match regular series against the Texas Rangers 1-2 winning only one game with the close margin of 4-3.
The next three-game encounter was against the Cleveland Indians which they won 2-0 as one particular game was postponed due to bad weather. The very next three-game series against the Detroit Tigers was again proved good for the White Sox as they also won it 2-1.
While the ongoing series against the Baltimore Orioles will determine the latest standings of White Sox before they prepare to play the Seattle Mariners from April 20.
