Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura shows optimism for Adam Dunn – MLB Update
Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura remained positive throughout the last Major League Baseball season and implemented some of the aggressive strategies.
Last season, he came as White Sox manager with big hopes and somewhat top management now showing their satisfaction on his work. The White Sox top executives lately have also given him some more freedom to contribute his say in the franchise’s new signings and trades.
Overall his last season’s performance and relationship with the players show a good potential future for both sides. Ventura recently gave a detailed interview in which he talked about some important White Sox’s players and not only he just made comments on his last season’s performance but he also explained in the media about their potential future roles in the team.
On designated hitter Adam Dunn’s game; he has a brief stance that Dunn will be showing his hidden skills in the coming seasons. He told the media that White Sox’s hard hitter will spend some time on first-base as well.
“I think that will probably happen, I think, for Paulie, what goes through the course of the year is a lot. It’s a lot to have him be the everyday first baseman. I think Adam proved to be at the end he can play first base and give Paulie more time and when you get to that age, not that he’s done by any means, it’s going to help him to have time off and not be on his feet so much,” Ventura said.
Ventura added, “He’s athletic, That’s another part of it. You’re not sticking a guy over there who can’t play."
Dunn, during the last season with the White Sox, played really well and proved his valour. He hit with an average of .204 along with 41 homers, 96 RBIs and .333 OBP.
Dunn is an eleven-year Major League veteran and possesses a career .240 hitting average along with 406 home-runs, 1018 RBIs and .370 WHIP. Many in the White Sox roster believe that Dunn will be a trump card for their team if they want a good start in 2013 Major League Baseball season.
