Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura shuffles roster – MLB News
New Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura is taking some huge steps forward in order to get things done in an accurate manner especially before the mid season break.
This is also to remember that this particular season is the very first for the former Major League Baseball player as a full time manager of any side. Ventura, who possesses some good experience, playing with different MLB franchises including the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, also knows where his team is lacking at the moment.
Chicago White Sox sources are now reporting that Ventura is doing some bold steps reshaping the starting line-up for next particular games. The latest development of Ventura being the sole authority on roster changes, he started off with his talented pitcher Jake Peavy when he did not allow him to play against the Detroit Tigers and make him rest for the entire game.
Later he also pulled off Alex Rios in the ninth inning of the game calling him back into the dugout for the rest of the game. Later, Ventura said, “It is delicate, I don’t necessarily like to do that, but in that spot, you have Paulie [Konerko] coming up next. You don’t know how many chances you have for a guy who has a chance to hit one out. More of Dunner’s thing.”
Rios said, “It’s not a big deal, but I’ve been I’ve been swinging the bat good, So it didn’t cross my mind that I was going to be pinch hit for, but if it’s the best for the team to win that game, let’s go for it. It’s all about winning games.”
Though some stated that Rios must have much offended by this move of Ventura, but according to his own verdict, he is not at having any kind of difficulty accepting his manager’s late decision.
Now it will be interesting to see how Ventura gets his final roster prepared for next Major League outings, however at the moment, he is making some productive decisions which certainly will give the right kind of stability to the White Sox in the later stages of the competition.
