Chicago White Sox oust Los Angeles Angels 3-0 – MLB Recap
Chicago White Sox defeated the Los Angeles Angels 3-0 in the third game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, May 12 at U.S Cellular Field in Chicago.
Though the White Sox won the last game of the series, but overall they lost the three-game series 2-1. Unlike two previous games, the White Sox’s were confident when they approached their home-field on Sunday.
Their overall performance remained subtle and impressive. White Sox batters and pitchers played as one unit and finished the series on a high note. It was a great team victory for the White Sox in the last game of the series and at the same time, it was
much morale boosting win as well.
Starter Chris Sale played wonderfully and pitched in entire match. He pitched nine solid innings and allowed no run or hit. He struck out seven and remained confident on 2.88 ERA.
"I knew warming up in the bullpen I felt loose. My arm felt good tonight," Sale said. "Warming up in the bullpen I felt like I was creating some good stuff and just wanted to transfer that out to the field, and it ended up working out tonight."
"He understands how it's been going," Ventura said of Sale. "So it's one of those you need a guy like that that can go out and put together a game like that and give you a chance."
Along with good pitching, the White Sox batters also played wonderfully and showed the Angels their true offensive class and won the game in style.
Shortstop Alexei Ramirez scored one run on three hits. He ran for two RBIs and remained consistent on his .341 slugging percentage. Right fielder Alex Rios also played wonderfully and ran for single RBI on his .507 slugging percentage.
On the other hand, the Angels could not play their natural game and lost bitterly in the end. They received too many hits and allowed three runs.
Starter C.J. Wilson did not pitch well early in the game and received three runs and three earned runs. He struck out three while his ERA rose to 3.88.
