Chicago White Sox oust Minnesota Twins 12-5 – MLB Recap
The Chicago White Sox ousted the Minnesota Twins 12-5 in the last and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, June 27 at Target Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
White Sox once again showed their power and proved unplayable for the Twins. The 12 run gap was more than enough for Chicago to hold back the Twins for nine innings.
“We haven't been swinging the bats well the last couple weeks so hopefully today it gets everybody's confidence back up and we start rolling again," Dunn said.
Chris Sale literally handcuffed the Twins with his sinking fast deliveries in a total of seven innings and proved his magic. He remained calm on the mound and received just two runs on six hits. He also received only two earned runs while he struck-out five hitters as his ERA stayed consistent at 2.27.
"Any time you go out there and get that kind of run support it kind of calms you down a little bit, but you try not to pay attention to it. My focus is on this team and what I'm doing here. I'm just trying to keep the same approach I've had all year,” said Sale
Twins' pitchers however, played poorly and never looked comfortable on the mound.
From starter Nick Blackburn to relief pitcher Jeff Manship to closer Jeff Gray and Tyler Robertson, nobody showed their true talents and eventually lost the game with bitter humiliation.
The Twins pitching was the only week point of this significant margin defeat.
Blackburn tossed five innings and received nine hits, six runs and six earned runs. He only able to retire three batters as his ERA rose to 7.74.
Manship pitched 1.0 inning and finished with five hits, three runs and three earned runs while his ERA rose to 10.97. Closer Gray also just could pitch in the right areas as he was hit with one run and one earned run.
Minnesota who is already at bottom in the American League Central Division now certainly needs a power pack performance from their senior players in order to fight for a possible post-season qualification.
