Chicago White Sox outclass city rivals Chicago Cubs 6-0 – MLB Recap
The Chicago Cubs’ miserable run is continuous as they received yet another loss to Chicago White Sox on Sunday May 20 at Wrigley Field, Chicago when Jake Peavy rattled the Cubs’ offence and gave them a humiliating defeat with big margin 6-0.
With this win the White Sox also took away the series 3-0. All three games proved wonderful for the White Sox who never at any stage gave chance to their opponents to take control of the game.
"I'm not a big thinker, I have an approach each game and I try to stick with it, Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't." Dunn said.
On the other hand, this particular loss has given the Cubs’ sixth straight defeat as now they prepare to confront Houston Astros’ hammering who as a team is looking in great form.
Coming on to this particular game, Cubs from start to end, never felt comfort going on to the plate. White Sox however, came to the Wrigley Field with much confidence and looked a combined unit. From their starters to batting lineup, entire White Sox roster
played wonderfully and never gave any loop holes to their opponents.
The Cubs' Alfonso Soriano said after the game, "We had opportunities to score a lot of runs with the wind today, Sometimes, we see a flag like that and we're not (concentrating). ... We see the wind and we forget that we have to hit the ball first."
Especially Jake Peavy proved to be the difference in both teams’ final results. He stood tall against all the Cubs’ batters and never allowed a single run. He finished his 6.1 innings with three hits.
"If we can keep going on the right track with the guys swinging the bats the way they have the last few days, we should be able to play a little more consistent," Peavy said.
In the meanwhile, with this series win the Chicago White Sox’s morale has certainly been increased which will also help them in their future games. They are at the moment sitting quite comfortable at second position in the American League Central Division
behind Cleveland Indians.
