Chicago White Sox outfielder Adam Dunn plays different against lefties – MLB News
The Oakland Athletics outfielder Adam Dunn has not been a good hitter to lefties and often went without any hits whenever this pressure comes up in a crucial game. The team management knows this fact and has always helped the 32-year-old veteran.
In the game against the Oakland Athletics, once again the White Sox management gave the night off to Adam Dunn as their opponent starting pitcher was left hander Tommy Milone.
The current 1-for-18 against all the left hander pitchers, Dunn is now also feeling somewhat agitated and trying hard to bring back the missing factor of his playing strategy while facing lefties.
"Obviously I’m doing something against them that’s not working," Dunn said. "I feel fine in the box, but when I do get a pitch to hit, I miss it. Probably pulling off a little bit against the lefty."
The overall stat chart shows a dire picture of his plays against the lefties with total 10 strikeouts. Though his three RBIs against the lefties do suggest as he has potential to play them rightfully, but still looking at the record of against the right hander pitchers with batting .333 with four home runs and 11 RBIs are more convincing while evaluating his past record.
Though White Sox manager Robin Ventura is helping out Dunn with this recent situation of being unable to play lefties with full swing, but experts believe that as the season gets more heated, Dunn will comeback with his old hitting power especially against the lefties.
In the meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox GM Kenny Williams and manager Robin Ventura are preparing the team for next outings against tough opponents.
At the moment both are pushing their starting pitcher Jake Peavy for a more open game. Peavy currently is enjoying his so far contribution in the ongoing Major League Baseball season. His recent comments for his game also suggest well balanced preparations for next outings.
"Feel is two things," Peavy said Tuesday. "It’s having a sense of being able to feel your way around pitches, working with what you’ve got. Feel is also a feel of the game, what you need to do. Everybody tries to have that. I guess it’s a compliment. I guess I’m a pitcher."
On the whole, it will be interesting to see how Dunn and Peavy will be playing in the next games with slight new ambitions.
