Chicago White Sox outshine Minnesota Twins 11-8 – MLB Recap
The Chicago White Sox outshined the Minnesota Twins 11-8 in the last and third game of their three-match regular series encounter on Thursday, May 24 at U.S. Cellular Field, Chicago in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
With this win, the White Sox have also won the series 2-1 and maintained their .511 winning percentage in the American League Central Division.
Centre fielder Alejandro De Aza hit a grand slam in the sixth inning and provided a great win to the White Sox.
"I was trying to get a fly ball because it was bases loaded, And the fly ball got big, you know." De Aza said on his superb performance which gave his team a tremendous win.
Later White Sox manager Robin Ventura said for his team combined effort who displayed a strong show of their offensive skills, "It's one night, but just the way they're swinging it, you could see it sort of coming over the weekend, Just the intensity and
the quality of at-bats that we were having, that's the thing that keeps it going is everyone continues to do that and grind out at-bats. That's what they were doing tonight. They were late in the counts and still putting on good swings."
White Sox starter Philip Humber played well for his team and remained persistent in 4.1 innings. Though he went for early five runs, but he did able to retire four Twins batters.
On the other hand, the Twins starter and closer could not bring any accuracy in their throws. Both were waivered and hit with total 10 runs.
Cole DeVries finished with six hits, along with six runs and three earned runs. He was also hammered with three home runs which certainly gave the White Sox a fair chance to open up a gap of six in the eighth.
Closer Brian Duensing also played poorly as he hit with four runs and three hits.
On the whole, this win has certainly given the White Sox more confidence going into the season with smooth pace.
