Chicago White Sox pitcher Chris Sale shows optimism ahead of 2012 MLB season
The Chicago White Sox young pitcher Chris Sale is showing some great optimism going into a new Major League season despite the fact that his team did not perform well in 2011.       .
He was speaking to the media at the White Sox FanFest on Monday night where several other team-mates of his were also present. Sale, who achieved an ERA of 2.79 last season striking-out a total 79 hitters, told the reporters with utter belief of going an extra mile next season for bringing positive results for the White Sox in 2012.
Chris said, “I won't be walking out any wrong doors this spring.” He was determined as next season will bring some constructive changes in the entire roster and this is also possible that his playing position might change in 2012 from a potential reliever to offensive starter.
Later, White Sox pitching Coach Don Cooper also admitted that Chris Sale’s potential rotation from reliever to starter is under consideration and only few days are required to take the final decision.
Cooper said with slight confidence and details that, “It’s certain because he hasn’t done the role, but he has pitched as a starter [in college and the minor leagues]. There’s going to be uncertainty in any guy’s first year starting in the big leagues because it’s a huge challenge.”
White Sox general manager Kenny Williams also recognises this fact that Chris Sale deserves to be in the starting rotation and hoped next season will bring some positive playing position for him.
Last year, Sale went with a 2.79 ERA along with eight saves, 79 strike-outs and 1.11 WHIP while his career 2.58 ERA, 12 saves, 111 strike-outs and 1.10 WHIP shows that he is certainly a talented player and will surely established himself as potential starter next season.
The White Sox will be hoping Sale puts in a good performance during the upcoming Spring Training session and guides the club to a successful regular season. Sale understands the importance of stahying positive and working hard ahead of Spring Training as the White Sox will be hoping for some success this year.
