Chicago White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy understands his new role in the team – MLB Update

The Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Jake Peavy, who is also the only known pitcher left in the team, is currently feeling quite optimistic about the future results of the franchise.
This offseason the White Sox lost a tremendous pitcher Mark Buehrle, who joined the Miami Marlins to secure his future playing chances, but as soon as he left the team, the White Sox management felt the deeper blow having not signed any another good pitcher for 2012 competition which also threatened their potential post season chances.
The same kind of burden felt by veteran pitcher Jake Peavy who is playing in the White Sox franchise since 2009 after spending some seven years with the San Diego Padres and achieved good credibility of being a role player who understands his game well.
He knows after Mark Buehrle’s departure, he and John Danks are the only good and well established players in this year’s starting rotation and due to lack of good starting pitchers; the team cannot play up-to its potential.
He lately also expressed in the media that he feels enormous amount of responsibility and will try his best to achieve good results for the team.
Peavy said, “I've told guys since spring training that Chris Sale is going to be something special, I kind of laughed at Johnny. I told him the other day:  You might have some competition for the next four years with the way Chris Sale is pitching and we all think is going to develop."
He added, “I'm not saying in any way that I'm not going to try to match what they do, that’s the competitor in you. I still think I can. It's fun to have guys on this staff with this talent. We'll see what level I can get back to.”
Currently Peavy is throwing with an enormous amount of energy and pitching with an ERA of 3.55 along with 1-0 win loss record 13 strikeouts and 0.95 WHIP. These stats show his good offensive ball play and if this performance continued in the near future, the chances are high that the White Sox’s results will be quite balanced this season.
