Chicago White Sox pitcher Jose Quintana starts impressive – MLB News
The Chicago White Sox are currently going great in this year’s Major League Baseball season. Their entire roster is playing exceptionally well including some of the new players, who are also showing their abilities with every possible way.
Currently playing for the first time in White Sox senior roster, talented pitcher Jose Quintana did exceptionally well against the Cleveland Indians on Monday.
He looked confident on the mound and pitched with enormous energy pitching 5/2/3 scoreless innings.
“I was a little bit tense, but as it went along, I started to relax a little more,’’ said Quintana with confidence explaining about the feelings at start of the game.
Quintana added, "It was definitely on my mind that I was going in," "It was just a matter of when. I was ready, I was prepared and I knew that I was going in."
For a potential backup and with some recent defeats, the White Sox management has called him from their Minor League team Double-A Birmingham. Though earlier it was being stated in the media from some White Sox source that he will be playing in the senior
team only for few months, but now speculations are on the row that his presence is much more needed in South Chicago baseball franchise for entire season.
Manager Robin Ventura said, "This is new with the 26th guy (on the roster for doubleheaders), but he pitched like he's been around, He did great."
He added, “He was coming in to limit the damage and did more than that, He was keeping them off-balance, and he was composed.”
This is a healthy sign for the White Sox who now have the services of a young and talented pitcher who also has some Minor League playing experience. This is quite sure that experts always rate those pitchers high from those who play only in the Majors and
never went into any farm team to play more of a fast and aggressive kind of baseball.
In the meanwhile, Quintana is still very young while by the time he will gain some more Major League experience, he can be rated as one of the best role players in the White Sox roster.
