Chicago White Sox pound Minnesota Twins 11-4 – MLB Recap
Chicago White Sox pounded the Minnesota Twins 11-4 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, July 24 at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.
The White Sox players came together as one unit and defeated the Twins with ease. They did not give any loop-holes during the entire game and won in the end.
This was second straight win for the White Sox as the Chicago side has also won the series.
White Sox batting line-up performed wonderfully and earned a great victory for their team. Their hitters played confidently against the Twins’ pitchers and hammered them with some heavy hits. The White Sox dominated the game and made it look too easy.
Designated hitter Adam Dunn scored three runs on three hits while he also added four RBIs. He remained his calm during his five at-bats and kept the Twins pitchers under pressure and eventually proved one of the winning factors for the White Sox.
Dunn said, "I care about hitting the ball as hard as I can. If I do that and get a single, sometimes that's OK. I'm not here to hit singles, when you get a homer, you don't really swing too hard, it just kind of shows up.”
Later team-mate Paul Konerko commented on Dunn and appreciated his play which gave them a decent victory over the Twins and said, "He's a monster right now, I think he's an ever better hitter and better everything than he was even when he was having those great years before, I think his best is ahead of him. My job is to try to be as tough as I can so they don't walk him (Dunn),"
Along with batters, the pitchers also performed tremendously and made possible for the White Sox to defeat the Twins in such a fine manner.
White Sox starter Jose Quintana pitched 6.1 innings and received four runs on eight hits with four earned runs as well. He did well and maintained his 2.58 ERA which restricted the Twins to score only four runs.
On the other hand, the Twins’ entire pitching rotation was hammered with heavy hitting and could not save the game in the end.
