Chicago White Sox pounded by Kansas City Royals 2-5 – MLB Recap
The Chicago White Sox pounded by the Kansas City Royals 2-5 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, August 7 at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.
Royals’ played offensive and earned a great victory against the White Sox. They never showed any loop-holes in their game and eventually proved too good for the White Sox.
Royals’ pitchers and batters played tremendously as they kept the White Sox under pressure during the entire game. Their roster remained confident in the field and showed true class in all areas of play.
Whereas the White Sox senior players played defensively and could not save the game for their team. Especially the Royals’ pitchers kept them at bay with their fast and curving pitching.
Starter Bruce Chen was the real play maker from the Royals’ side. He pitched 6.2 and allowed only two runs and seven hits. He looked confident on the mound and received two earned runs and struck-out two White Sox batters as well on his 5.51 ERA.
"[Chen] just did a good job, He's got a lot of pitches and he keeps people off balance. He just knows how to pitch. We couldn't get to him," said White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham for Chen.
On the other hand, the White Sox starter Jake Peavy could not play his natural game and was hit with enormous power as he gave three runs, seven hits along with three earned runs on his 3.08 ERA.
"I did not see the scoreboard tonight. I don't really care, You got to take care of business here. On your fifth day, that's all that consumes me. Losing a game like we lost tonight, when you feel like it could have went differently, it [stinks]. There's no other way to say it. Losing is losing. I got outpitched. I don't like to lose. I just hate to lose,” said Peavy.
Peavy was not the only pitcher who played poor but relief pitcher Leyson Septimo and closer Nate Jones also could not play their natural aggressive game which proved disastrous for the White Sox.
