Chicago White Sox prospect Andy Wilkins shows strong depth – MLB Update
Chicago White Sox prospect Andy Wilkins is showing good progress in the Minor League. He recently impressed the White Sox front office with his extraordinary presence in Arizona Fall League where he rattled many hard hitters.
Though he could not show any impressive plays in the White Sox’s affiliates in Double-A Birmingham but later in other Minor League outings, he did astonish many with his hard hitting skills.
“He may be our most polished player, Especially with the fact he can stay in on a left-hander and hit it to left-center. He has been driving in some big runs,” Salt River manager Matt Williams said.
He added with confidence, “Fortunately for him and for his experience, but unfortunately for me as a manager, he's facing a lot of left-handers, But it's good for him. He hit a home run on a hanging curve. He has batted third or fourth every time he's played, splitting time at first base with (Matthew) Skole. But he's solid defensively and he's stealing bases (two). We're letting him play, he has done great."
Experts and many Major League scouts think that he has completed the initial level of right preparation to enter into the biggest baseball league in the world.
His development in the Minor League has proved a great learning process for him. He is a good player and needs this Minor League preparation.
White Sox also needed a good player after they came out humiliated in the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season.
They finished second in the American League Central Division with 85-77 win-loss along with .525 winning percentage.
If they could have played little better than the Detroit Tigers, they would have qualified into the post-season.
Now since the season is over and San Francisco Giants are the new World Series Champions, the White Sox have started their new strategic changes or somewhat new inductions.
The White Sox line-up also gives room to more players to join the roster. Though they have already Adam Dunn, but a new hard hitter will be more constructive for them in the recent future.
