Chicago White Sox re-sign Dewayne Wise – MLB Update
Chicago White Sox’s entire roster performed with great temperament in the past season. They started well and achieved consistent numbers during the entire 2012 Major League Baseball season.
However, at the last stages of the regular season, the White Sox upfront batters did not perform well and could not get a post-season spot.
Overall the White Sox’s winning record remained consistent with .525 winning percentage but still it was enough to compete with other teams in the American League Central Division.
Detroit Tigers, with three superfluous wins, just got the best advantage from the White Sox and confirmed their place in the playoffs.
On the other hand, as soon as the season ended, the White Sox management started looking deep into some factors which caused them trouble and barred them from playing in the playoffs.
One factor they found out was their weak offense in the latter half of the game. To give little stability to their dire offence, the White Sox now has initiated some re-signings moves of their experienced players.
They recently re-signed outfielder Dewayne Wise to a one year contract and showed some progress on their late ambition to bring back some of the most experienced players in the roster.
They re-signed him for $700,000 with a one-year lucrative contract. Wise is highly talented player and possesses large Major League experience.
Last season, when he joined the White Sox, he was a free agent. The New York Yankees waived him and Wise decided to move to the White Sox roster.
After signing, he started playing for the White Sox and batted with sheer power. Though he was carrying the momentum, but after coming into White Sox’s batting line-up, he started showing his best skills which proved productive for them as they started a good winning run at the middle of the regular season.
Wise finished with an improved .259 hitting average along with eight homers, 30 RBIs and .293. Overall he possesses great hitting average of .228 along with 30 homers and 112 RBIs and .264 OBP which also makes a good role player in the league.
