Chicago White Sox rout Texas Rangers 5-2 – MLB Recap
The Chicago White Sox crushed the Texas Rangers 5-2 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, May 1 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
With this win, the White Sox’s have bounced back in the series. They were defeated by 10-6 in the previous game of the series.
"It ended up jamming up the bases, He should have been halfway, there's no doubt about it," manager Ron Washington said.
In Wednesday’s game, the White Sox’s players played as one unit. They played with an offensive strategy and won the game with quite ease.
"The one inning, just seemed like there were people all over the place, For him to come out of it only giving up two (runs) to that lineup, he kind of gutted through it," manager Robin Ventura said
White Sox’s batters and at the same time hitters played wonderfully and did not allow the Rangers to take advantage from any situation.
Experienced starter Chris Sale tossed seven solid innings and showed his valour. He allowed two runs and received six hits. He struck seven while he remained consistent on 3.83 ERA. It was Chris Sale alone who won the game for the White Sox. Rest of the
White Sox pitchers also played well but his performance outnumbered everyone in Chicago’s side.
"You've just got to focus when stuff starts going wrong. That's something I've really had to work on, keeping my composure and not getting in my own head, being my own worst enemy, The game's not over in the second inning," Sale said.
Along with good pitching, the White Sox also benefited from their good hitters. They all played well and allowed no loop holes giving clear advantage to their team.
Left fielder Alejandro De Aza scored two runs on two hits. He also ran for two RBIs on four at bats. De Aza is an experienced White Sox’s campaigner and knows how to bat down the order.
White Sox’s first baseman Paul Konerko also did a good job on the plate. He scored one run on one hit on three at bats.
