Chicago White Sox second baseman Alexei Ramirez hopes Ozzie Guillen’s apology will be accepted
After Gordon Beckham and Chicago White Sox new manager Robin Ventura’s comments on Miami Marlins’ manager Ozzie Guillen’s late apology, now second baseman Alexei Ramirez is also coming in the spot light and saying in public that he feels Guillen’s apology will be accepted despite many Cuban American have offended by his praising words for long time Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
Ramirez has explained in the media that Ozzie’s might have done this inadvertently, but still the blame cannot be taken out from his side while at the same time as he has asked for an apology, it seems certain that his apology will be accepted.
Ramirez said in detail, “I haven’t specifically heard what Ozzie said, But I would just say whatever his thoughts, whatever his comments, those are Ozzie’s comments. That’s more on him. Everybody is free to have an opinion.”
He added, “It’s one of those that there are some people who like Castro and some people who don’t. In Miami, it’s definitely of a different thought frame. I think that his opinion is not the same opinion I have. Apologizing is definitely a big first step.”
Ozzie Guillen, who has just joined the Marlins as manager, caught himself in trouble when he made comments about Cuban ruler Castro as he thinks the dictator is a great leader and people should admire his personality and governing approach that still makes him the powerful man in Cuba.
As soon as these comments were out, the media turned wild especially Miami media that have strong support of Cuban American nationals while which ultimately put Guillen on back foot for the level of hatred these all people feel for their former authoritarian.
Later, the Major League Baseball authorities suspended Guillen for five-games for these unnecessary remarks which created kind if big and negative buzz among all the haters of Fidel Castro.
On the other hand, the Miami manager Guillen also send his apologies to people who were offended by his late comments, but still media is criticising him and it looks, Guillen will not be coming out with all this controversy too easy.
