Chicago White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham going smooth in current season – MLB News
With a hitting average of .190 along with .261 OBP, the Chicago White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham somewhat is playing well in this ongoing Major League Baseball season.
Though some news is coming regarding his effortless offence and top defence, but overall experts and some inside Major Leaguers are agree that his pace his smooth and if he continued his thrust into the next round or after the mid season break, the chances are high that he will end up getting some high level recognition among his all teammates.
Recently, during a post game press conference, Beckham to the media and told them some of the facts which he finds certain for this type of early pace. He said, "I don’t take my at-bats to the field, when it’s not going well offensively, I don’t carry it to my defensive game and the pitcher who’s out there. It’s something else I can do [to contribute]. I don’t want to not give 100 percent. If I didn’t get to a ball because I wasn’t, I would hate myself."
White Sox new manager Robin Ventura is also supporting the views which some news papers and internet media have highlighted earlier regarding Beckham and his game.
Ventura said, “It’s hard to separate [offensive struggles from defense], For me, that means you’re an unselfish player [when you do]. You could take it out on the rest of your team [by slacking on defense].”
To judge Beckham’s offence and the level of defensive game he has, some baseball experts and pundits refer to his career hitting average of .245 along with 33 home-runs, 158 RBIs and .314 OBP. Though these stats only, cannot make anyone realise or understand that how his game has been balanced with some aggressive ball play and at the same time consistent at defensive nature.
In the meanwhile, this a healthy sign for the White Sox management whose one of the best players in the roster is being getting the right momentum and in near future will be unveiling his other skills as well which are going to help both White Sox and Gordon Beckham.
