Chicago White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez seems okay with Yoenis Cespedes’ early success
Chicago White Sox’s brilliant shortstop Alexei Ramirez has very close relations with Oakland Athletics’ outfielder Yoenis Cespedes who is currently playing very aggressive in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Ramirez, now also saying in public regarding his close friend Cespedes that he is not at-all surprised over his early success with the South Oakland based baseball franchise.
Ramirez admired Cespedes’ game and the level of extraordinary talent he possesses telling the media some very interesting facts about his friend, who defected from Cuba just to play in the biggest baseball league in the world.
"Outside of baseball, we're friends," Ramirez said Sunday. "But when it comes to on the field, this is my team. And I'll definitely tell (my teammates) how to pitch to him. Then, after the game, we'll go back to being friends."
Ramirez added explaining about Cespedes and his game, "I'm not surprised at all, This is what I've been saying all along. Once he was in the Dominican Republic (to play winter ball), I knew the talent he has and his ability. I feel he's adjusted well (to life in the United States), He was in the Dominican Republic for at least a year.”
The media has also turned its attention towards Ramirez after his comments about Cespedes as both players are currently representing their teams respectively in ongoing their three match regular series.
Earlier, when former Cuban International player Cespedes decided to play in the Major League Baseball, the White Sox management and its scouts were first to approach him to convince him to play for them, but the potential long term contract was the real hurdle which ruined the whole possibility of Cespedes’ arrival into the Chicago based baseball franchise.
In the meanwhile, after arriving in A’s roster, Cespedes has started his role as pinch hitter with an extra responsibility of being a role player.
He is currently hitting with an average of .254 along with four home runs, 15 RBIs and .357 OBP while this is just a beginning and as the season gets tougher after the mid season break, Cespedes will unveil his true power plays.
