Chicago White Sox show confidence in newly acquired pitcher Nestor Molina – MLB News
The Chicago White Sox’s management is showing great confidence in newly acquired pitcher, Nestor Molina, stating boldly in the media that he will be an ace player for them in the next couple of seasons.
The White Sox’s new head of international operations, Marco Paddy explained about Molina’s time at Toronto Blue Jays’ farm system in the minor league where he first started as hitter and converted his game to a potential pitcher.
Paddy, while speaking about Molina said, “He wasn't afraid or upset, He took the chance. He struggled with the bat in his second season, but the conversion (to pitcher) came easily because he played everywhere. He's athletic, and he took to pitching the
right way. He wasn't scared. There's no doubt he throws hard, and he had the ability to throw strikes from the get-go, He also has grown from 5 foot 11 to almost 6-2. He has great athletic ability. The tools are there.”
After inquiring all aspects of his game, Paddy put all the details of Nestor Molina’s game in-front of White Sox general manager, Kenny Williams, who later approved the potential arrival of Molina into the White Sox 40-man roster for next Major League seasons.
The negotiations with Nestor’s agent also came out successful and the White Sox officially signed 22-year-old, Nestor, on December 6, 2011, giving him a huge
plate-form for improving his pitching in the presence of 39 other world-class players.
Molina’s arrival in the White Sox franchise will also give them huge sustainability as its current starters are not producing well. The current Miami Marlins and former White Sox player, Mark Buehrle was the only player who played consistently last season
despite the low depth in the entire White Sox bullpen.
Since he has joined hands with the Marlins, the White Sox certainly needed a good player especially a pitcher, who could carry forward their dream of winning a World Series title while with the arrival of Nestor Molina; some say the White Sox management
is already on the roll to outdo everyone in the league.
