Chicago White Sox skipper Robin Ventura thinks managers should only speak about baseball
Things are getting more complex regarding Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen’s comments that he made about Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, which offended many Cuban Americans.
Marlins’ new players’ in-charge, Ozzie Guillen lately stated in the media that Fidel is a courageous man as he is in power with so much sophistication even after he is out of picture officially due to his president brother Raul Castro.
These comments were enough for all the concerned people who have been battling hard for foreign invasion of radical slogans into US while those who are Cuban and currently residing in US due to different reasons also felt hurt when they heard about Guillen’s comments appreciating Castro.
Guillen is a baseball manager and usually baseball related individuals including players often do not indulge in these types of controversial debates.
Lately, Ventura, who is the current manager of Chicago White Sox, has given an indirect sort of a piece of advice to Ozzie that he must focus on baseball and leave all the things behind.
He stated in the media that baseball people must talk about baseball only. He explained and also stated in the media regarding Guillen’s apology which asked with complete sincerity. Ventura said, “It’s a tough day for him, but he looked sincere and meant it, it’s one of those things he’ll have to get through. He’s a friend, so it’s not always easy to watch, either.”
Ventura added saying all the managers should stick with the baseball as he also will act on this way. “Yeah, that’s what I’m going to do.” said Ventura.
Later the White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham also said for Guillen’s comments. Beckham said, “All of the guys in this clubhouse knew what he meant when he said that, Sometimes Ozzie will say more than he should. That’s not a fun thing for anybody who’s Latin to go through.”
In the meanwhile, the Marlins new manager has somehow realised what to talk and what to avoid regarding any kind of controversial topic. Currently he is completing a five-game suspension, but as soon as he will come-out on the field, he will certainly be more cautious readings his words.
