Chicago White Sox slip to Boston Red Sox 1-5 – MLB Recap
The Chicago White Sox lost to the Boston Red Sox 1-5 in the first game of their four-match regular series encounter on Monday, July 16 at Fenway Park in Boston.
White Sox played poorly from start of the game and could not match the Red Sox brilliance.
They just scored one run as they remained under pressure throughout the game and eventually lost in the end.
First baseman Adrian Gonzalez played tremendously for the Red Sox as they easily powered past the White Sox in the final inning.
Gonzalez scored one run on two hits while he also made four RBIs on his four at-bats.
On the other hand, the White Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis was the only player who looked confident playing the Red Sox pitchers.
He scored the only run from the White Sox batting line-up as his performance still could not match the Red Sox brilliance as they rattled Robin Ventura’s men by a big margin.
Later in the game, Youkilis explained in the media with different aspects of his team’s poor play as well as his own performance.
He said, "It's definitely going to be living a moment before, I think my teammates are most excited. I think they're more excited than I'll be. People have been really good to me. I'll probably see a few (No.) 20 jerseys out there.  It's exciting to come
back to a ballpark I've known as home for a long time."
He added, “I don't understand why this is a big rift, I'm just here to play baseball and things will happen.”
Not only the batters but the Red Sox pitchers also played well and earned a great victory for his team.
Aaron Cook pitched seven innings and received only one run on five hits while he did not give up any runs. His pitching remained unplayable for the White Sox top batters and eventually proved one of the winning factors in Boston’s victory.
The Red Sox will be happy with their performance as they are looking to gain some momentum and build up some much needed confidence in their game-play. Chicago will be disappointed as they were unable to get their offence going and struggled throughout the
game.
