Chicago White Sox starter John Danks shows optimism ahead of Spring Training – White Sox Update
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher John Danks is recovering with rapid pace from his shoulder surgery and now showing great optimism ahead of next Spring Training.
He stated in the media with full confidence that he will be pitching soon when his team management will call him into Spring Training.
"I've already had two throwing sessions, We did it so my schedule is lined up to throw off a mound after Jan. 1, So far, so good. It feels like I haven't thrown in a while, but it's a positive step. My strength is back, I just have to get my flexibility. I was in Chicago last week to see the doctors, and they were very pleased,” said Danks in detail and explained about all the aspects relating to his recovery and the possibility of his Spring Training outing.
He added with more confidence, “Those are two big pieces of our rotation, No one knew what was going to happen with them at the end of the season. I couldn't be happier, pitching every fifth day.”
Danks is ahead of his recovery schedule and team doctors are very happy on his fast rehabilitation. He received a minor procedure to repair a capsular tear around his rotator cuff and biceps later in the 2012 Major League Baseball season but the way he is recovering is outstanding and White Sox management is highly impressed.
Before his surgery, he played this past season with 5.70 ERA along with 3-4 win loss, 30 strike-outs and 1.49 WHIP. While his five-year big League career has also been quite impressive in which he won many games for the White Sox.
His career ERA is consistent at 4.12 along with 57-60 win-loss along with 744 strike-outs and 1.31 WHIP makes him a true offensive power house in the White Sox roster.
Experts believe that as soon as he joins the White Sox, the better it will be for them. They struggled in the regular season but with John Danks’ arrival, the South Chicago Baseball franchise will be more confident in the next Major League outing.
