Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Gavin Floyd stays focused despite trade whispers – MLB News
The Chicago White Sox’s starting pitcher Gavin Floyd is staying focused on the game despite trade whispers looming in the media. Some two weeks ago, several baseball experts have speculated in the media as the White Sox management is thinking to trade Floyd for the sake of good future seasons.
The experts also added criticising the White Sox management, who have already lost Mark Buehrle, and now once again going to trade Floyd, who is also considered the only premier pitcher in the roster, can receive harsh consequences this time around.
However, Gavin Floyd has responded with much positivism and hoping a good season with the team leaving all the reasons and speculations behind of his trade to another team in the coming mid season.
Floyd said, “This is just part of my journey, changing my life. Wherever God wants me to be, I'm happy," he added. "I'm going to give my 150 percent and work for the Lord, and he gives me the contentment and the drive every day to work hard and pitch to my fullest. Everything is in my hands. I try to trust in him and try to be the best pitcher for my team. It keeps you in a good position, I feel like it can only help me, and I can recover better.”
Having almost eight years in the biggest professional baseball league in the world, Floyd has also played with Philadelphia Phillies. In-fact he started his career with the Phillies and climbed up to become a good pitcher and one of the fast pitchers in the League. Whereas, as soon as he came into the White Sox’s roster, he was fully recognised by the League and achieved a well deserted name of a team player.
His career ERA of 4.50 along with 58-55 win loss record, 734 strike-outs and 1.33 WHIP is also makes him a good ball player in the League. On the other hand, the White Sox at the moment are not realising as if they traded Floyd then what kind of difficulties they might have to face in the next Major League competition.
