Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Jake Peavy hoping a great new season – MLB Update
Chicago White Sox’s starting pitcher Jake Peavy is hoping for a great Major League Baseball season next year.
After getting a two-year extension, Peavy now feels more comfortable and eager to show his talents in the next Major League outing.
He finished the 2012 season with great numbers and has been able to impress his management as they gave him a potential two-year extension on his current contract.
He remained consistent throughout the past season and achieved good ERA of 3.37 along with 11-12 win-loss, 194 strike-outs and 1.10 WHIP.
On the other hand, he is also carrying career 3.46 ERA along with 120-93 win-loss, 1748 strike-outs and 1.18 WHIP which also makes him a good role player in the league as well in the White Sox’s roster.
"Jake Peavy showed again last season why he is capable of being one of the top pitchers in the American League, Early on in this process, Jake expressed his strong desire to remain with the White Sox, and we're happy to reach a deal that keeps him at the top end of our rotation and his influence in our clubhouse for at least the next two years," Sox GM Rick Hahn said in a statement on Peavy’s extension and explained in the media with great detail.
Peavy also said in a statement on his extension telling reporters about his new level of energy to start another season with the White Sox, "I'm really excited to come back to Chicago and build on what we did last year, I made no secret of the fact that this is where I want to play.”
Peavy is highly talented individual and knows well the tricks of the trade. He is currently considered one of the most prolific pitchers in the Major League with one of the best records on the mound.
His extension instantly gave the White Sox a positive boost as their roster will be coming with a new energy next season.
His recent hope to start a new season on a positive note is good sign for the White Sox as it will give them real confidence as well.
