Chicago White Sox surpass Minnesota Twins 3-2 – MLB Recap
The Chicago White Sox surpassed the Minnesota Twins 3-2 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, June 26 at Target Field.
This was the second straight win for the White Sox who at the moment sitting quite comfortable holding the top position in the American League Central Division.
While with this win, the White Sox have won the series as well with one game to spare which will be played on Wednesday.
The entire White Sox roster played well and earned a great victory. They played aggressive and never allowed any loop-holes which could have given advantage to the Twins.
Starting pitcher Gavin Floyd played a key role in the White Sox series winning game. He tossed seven solid innings and did not receive any runs on five hits. He struck-out nine as his ERA remained consistent at 4.80.
“You try to have a short-term memory, just go out there and live in the present and make pitches, It was good to go out and play well for the team." said Floyd.
Later White Sox manager Robin Ventura said, "Just having better command and not getting balls in the middle of the plate, If you get anything in the middle of the plate in a hitters' count, guys are hitting it. Tonight he was able to stay away from the middle
of the plate and work his way out of innings. He showed that he had command and was able to get out of situations,"
Liam Hendriks’ on the other hand, could not play well and lost the game for the Twins. He pitched 6.1 innings and received three runs on five hits. He also received three earned runs as his ERA rose to 6.82 which proved lethal in the end.
At the moment, the Minnesota Twins are at the bottom of the American League Central Division with a 30-44 win-loss record and a .405 winning percentage.
According to many experts, this win-loss record and winning percentage is not good at all for the Twins’ potential chances of getting into the post-season. However, the team will be looking to bring some changes in their defensive strategy in the coming
days, as they might bounce back into the competition with some good results.
