Chicago White Sox third base coach Joe McEwing interviews with St. Louis Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals’ management has conducted a brief interview with the Chicago White Sox newly appointed third base Coach Joe McEwing on Thursday for a potential vacant managerial position in their franchise.
Earlier, some inside MLB sources speculated in the media, regarding Cardinals’ potential search for Tony La Russa’s replacement as team skipper. Though, the Cardinals’ management did not mention any sure candidate for their team’s next manager but some experts
are showing great confidence over Joe McEwing. These experts know that a young and more energetic manager will take any team to greater heights then an experienced and ridged strategist.
As a player and now as coach, McEwing has always taken his game seriously and that is what exactly the Cardinals want at the moment to include in a manager who believes in total hard work.
McEwing, who himself played in the Cardinals in 1999 had a little coaching experience in the Minor League’s Cardinals Triple-A Memphis affiliate for the last five years. Later, he joined the White Sox as third base coach just after Robin Ventura took over
as new manager. McEwing’s past nine years of professional baseball experience has eventually landed him in the coaching job.
On the other hand, the last 10 days has been certainly very fortunate for the former MLB star. He was brought as White Sox new third base coach and is now receiving offers from the Cardinals to become their team manager. Though, his appointment is yet to
be determined by the top executives of the Cardinals but recent remarks of their team chairman Bill DeWitt Jr. has certainly boosted the chances regarding McEwing’s appointment as new manager.
DeWitt said, “There are good young talents out there. Everyone starts somewhere, it should be a very desirable situation and I know there will be candidates out there calling, texting, and writing, whatever they do.”
Seeing his comments regarding the new Cardinals’ manager, he has certainly clarified the certainty of inexperienced manger for the franchise for the near future. The expectations are high on both ends but only time will tell whether the Cardinals show enough
confidence in Joe McEwing to be hired as their manager.
