Chicago White Sox veteran Brian Bruney out of bullpen – MLB Update

The Chicago White Sox veteran Brian Bruney has lost the final 12th pitching spot to rookie Nate Jones. The team announced on Saturday telling the media that both players have certainly fought hard for the final spot, but the one team management decided best for Opening Day is, Nate Jones.
Jones, who showed tremendous ball play skills, now will open the pitching routine on Opening Day. The team general manager Kenny Williams came out in the media and told the very details of this decision.
"I know these names were not on the tips of every White Sox fan's tongue but we felt as development and scouting people, that moving Chris Sale into the rotation and still having a solid rotation building for the future while making moves gives us depth in the minor leagues. People falsely -- hopefully -- are looking at our club saying because they have youth they're not going to compete. This is a mistake, these are talented people, they're confident and they have a lot of heart.'' Chicago White Sox general manager Kenny Williams said.
An eight-year veteran and former Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Yankees and Washington Nationals, Brian Bruney could not perform well in Arizona’s Spring Training this year, which also caused him badly as manager Robin Ventura decided not to pick him for the next Major League Baseball season.
Bruney has lately signed a Minor League deal with the White Sox while some experts also link this contract signing a big blow for him not to get the chance to be on the roster for 2012.
Bruney despite this year’s bad Spring Training, is considered a good player in the league. His past experiences with the different MLB teams tell as he is a utility player. His career pitching ERA of 4.70 along with 13 saves, 250 strikeouts and 1.62 WHIP is a good average for a player like Bruney.
In the meanwhile, the White Sox manager Robin Ventura has still not expelled the idea of any chances of Bruney’s comeback in the mid season break. The White Sox last year also had called Bruney in the senior team when they felt little trouble after the All Star break.
