Chicago White Sox will pursue free agent Mark Buehrle - MLB News
The Chicago White Sox have not lost hope on free agent Mark Buehrle and are thinking to offer him a potential new contract but also watching closely new developments regarding his matters. Buehrle, who, on the other hand, has also not given any clear intentions
for his future as where he will be heading for the 2012 Major League season.
Buehrle’s quietness is the main reason why many teams including the White Sox are still considering bringing him into their franchise.
According to White Sox general manager Ken Williams, who is a great optimist regarding Mark Buehrle’s future, said, “Deservedly so, he seems to be a very popular free agent on the market, perhaps even more popular than he even thought. So, again all we can
do is waiting until we get to the Winter Meetings.”
Williams’s comments on Buehrle’s future playing intentions are very clear which suggest his entire management is ready to see what happens in the next few weeks and they are pretty sure that this little waiting period will benefit them in order to stay close
with Buehrle’s chances to play once again with the team that he started his career.
Recently, Mark Buehrle has met with the Florida Marlins and New York Yankees’ managements to explore his playing chances with another team in Major League Baseball.
Though Buehrle is highly talented and can play for any major team in the MLB but his past performances with the White Sox for over nine years are still a key factor as why he is still little reluctant to sign any new contract with a new team. Back of his
mind, he also believes as he should also see any chances to play again for the Chicago White Sox.
It will be interesting to see where Buehrle ends up and what type o impact he can make for his new club. Buehrle will be looking for a decent long term contract with a new team so that he can play with some freedom and confidence. He is a tremendous player
and any side will be happy to acquire him into their roster.
