Chicago White Sox’s pitcher Chris Sale needs time to get ready for Opening Day – MLB News
The Chicago White Sox’s pitcher Chris Sale is still not ready for the next Major League Baseball season’s Opening Day. Though he is working hard, but still feeling little unsatisfied with the level of efforts he placed in this year’s Cactus League in Arizona.
Comparing last year’s performance at the start of the season, experts believe that he has not improved much. Even Sale himself indirectly told the media that his last year’s preparations were better and that he felt enormously good after going into the regular season.
So far, he has played relatively good in the Spring Trainings, but many believe he still needs some practice to perfect his fast delivery. In the very last game of Spring Training some glimpses of his fast play was seen, but on the whole, his pitching was not accurate and somewhat waivered.
“It was not as bad as it looked from the outside," Sale said. “I felt strong throughout the entire time, like I had pretty good command of all of my pitches. I felt like I made some good pitches."
Sale added. “This isn’t going to happen overnight. It’s hard to buy into, but you have to be able to keep your head up and work on the next one.”
The White Sox management is hoping a wonderful season for Sale, but with the level of energy he is showing lately places some questions as well. Firstly the Spring Training has over and now every team including the White Sox are making last minute’s strategy for next season. While secondly the team knows how effective Sale is for them. These all factors led to White Sox’s strategy and how they will be unfolding Chris Sale’s game for their team’s betterment.
On the other hand, general manager Ken Williams is also showing faith on Sale’s game. Williams knows this is his third year and he still needs to cover lots of ground on every aspect of the game. Williams thinks that by the time he will get more experience, Chris Sale will be able to produce the desired results and the kind of results his team wanted from him.
