Chicago White Sox’s roster could increase next season, indicates first year manager Robin Ventura
Chicago White Sox’s rookie manager Robin Ventura is indicating that the top management is serious to bring some more vital players in the side which will certainly help them compete well in the 2013 Major League Baseball season.
“You are now looking at what you’ve seen and been around instead of what you are being told and what your thinking is, Even for the whole staff to be together, it will just be a different meeting because everybody has been through it,” Ventura said earlier this month.
Ventura said, “You are talking about what you’ve seen and been through instead of what you think.”
This regular season, Chicago finished second in the American League Central Division with overall 85-77 win-loss along with .525 winning percentage.
This was a good result for a first year manager, but now after spending a whole season with the current roster, Ventura knows now is the right time to show his managerial skills which often tends to deal with acquiring and releasing potential players.
During a recent interview, Ventura also mentioned that in the coming months, he will be meeting with some top executives of the White Sox and will make his move to ensure some players signings.
At the moment, the White Sox need a good starting pitcher. After Mark Buehler certainly struggled. He moved to Miami last season which proved unfortunate for the White Sox as they lost too many games early in the regular season.
Recently White Sox’s catcher A.J. Pierzynski, who becomes a free agent this offseason, also interviewed to local news network and shared his views on his next assignment with the team he has been playing since 2005.
"Hopefully I can play for a few more years. I think I still got a few more years left in this body to play. But managing, that's something that people have asked me about and I think it'd be really hard," catcher A. J. Pierzynski.
It is a very good sign that experienced players are also interested to play further for the franchise as it will also make things easier for Robin Ventura in the coming season.
