Chicago White Sox’s starting pitcher John Danks out with grade I tear in his left shoulder
News is coming that the Chicago White Sox veteran starting pitcher John Danks is out due to grade I tear in his left shoulder.
The news hit in media when the White Sox played their first game of the series against their city rivals Chicago Cubs on late Monday night.
The entire White Sox management was surprised as just one day ago, he played brilliantly and looked confident against the Cubs’ potential three match series.
Reporters poured in the White Sox’s post match presentation when they heard about Danks’ condition.
Team doctor Gregory Nicholson was also present as he told several reporters that Danks is alright and there is nothing too serious regarding his injury. He also assured the media and Danks’ fans that he will not receive any surgery as well.
“It’s not thought to be anything real major, Just get some rest and get back at it, “It’s frustrating because it feels good one day and then c**p the next. It’s good to know what we’re dealing with.’’ Danks said with confidence on his injury and somewhat explained how much time he needs to comeback on the field.
Earlier in the week, Danks had also said, "That was my first question (about surgery), When you hear tear, it's kind of scary. I don't think it's anything super major. Like I said, I went out there and pitched earlier last week and felt fine, stuff was great, just having trouble bouncing back.”
The five-year talented veteran, Danks knew from last couple of days that he is much uncomfortable throwing the ball at full speed. While as for this particular reason he also went for a MRI checkup.
However, now since his grade I tear has been diagnosed, the debate has also been started that much recovery time he will need.
Although in similar cases of grade I injuries, the recovery time is approximate seven days, but here, in Danks’ case, the doctors are still keeping this information to themselves.
Danks is a very good player and before getting injured, he was playing at 3-4 win loss record, 5.70 ERA, 30 strikeouts and 1.49 WHIP.
