Question:

Chick Born With Growth on Bottom...?

I had a chick that was stuck in it's egg for about two days. Near the end of the second day, he was just looking like he wasn't going to make it so I gently helped break the shell of his egg and he escaped on his own.

We soon noticed, however, that he had what looked like a growth on his bottom. It could be the remainder of the yolk sack. A day's gone by and it's still there, about the size of a pea and brownish. He's getting around fine and eating now, other than the fact that he's smaller than the other chicks. I'm scared of this growth impairing his excrements and possibly killing him.

Does anyone know what this is? Will it kill him? What can I do about it?
