Chicken Pox- Where would they start/how quickly appear?

I'm 25y/o and not sure if I've ever had chicken pox. I have a rash on my right shoulder/arm that looks like chicken pox, but they aren't anywhere else. They've been there all day without really spreading. I haven't been sick lately, just tired (but I just had a baby six weeks ago and am moving right now too). I haven't been around anyone with the chicken pox either. In fact, for the past week, I've been inside packing, and haven't even went anywhere out in public, so if I have them not sure where they would come from... What can you folks tell me about where they would 1st show up, how quickly would they spread, etc...

  1. Chicken pox would normally appear on the stomach and back first. The fastest way to see if they are pox is to take a hot shower cause heat makes them spread really fast. That is what Mothers did years ago to get them broke all the way out on kids. They itch really bad too. It is uncommon to have pox this day and age. My daughter never had pox (my son did) and when she was about 22 she broke out in what she thought was chicken pox but it wasn't, it was shingles, that is what most grown ups get who never had pox. The Dr can give you medicine for the itching but he told her it was stress that caused hers to break out and when she got rid of the stress the rash would go away. He was right, she got rid of a cheating husband and the rash went with him (so to speak) So you probably have shingles. You sound like you have a lot of stress now so if you could relax a little it should help. You might want to check with your Dr to see if they are contagious to your baby and get some medicine for the itching.
