So today at like, i have no idea what time i have to go get my shots and i have to get 1 chicken pox and 6 dtap shots. and i am TERRIFIED of shots!!!! I HATE HATE HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM!!! But if I don't get them i won't be able to go to school next year... so i was pretty much woundering if there was a way to make them hurt less or at least make me less scared. And wich one hurts less??? and do they hurt more than shots like, at the dentist cause i got those and i was totally fine but my brother says they kill and that u can like get brain damage from the tdap shot!!!

  1. You won't be getting SIX DTAPs at the same time. There are however many in teh series to be given over a certain amount of time. This is why well baby visits have to be at least so far apart from one another....so teh shots aren;t given too close together. If not spaced far enough the second shot will do you no good.

Just relax, they do not even compare to a shot in your mouth.

  2. no they don't hurt.the injection might sting a LITTLE. ur brother is just trying to make u scared. I HATE needles too. i hate them so much that i started crying when i had to get a shot. but really it dosent hurt just think the sooner i get it the better and that really is true. so when the nurse is giving you the shot just look the other way and RELAX it going to be hard but TRUST ME i was just as terrified as you are. and the chance of you having a bad reaction is like one in a million literally=]

  3. Ignore your brother.  The best way to take a shot is to relax your muscles where you are going to get the shot and look away.  Most will be in your shoulder.  By the way when they talk about three or four shots there may be only one needle.  If the nurse is going to give the shot in your right shoulder just let that arm hang and try to relax it as much as you can.  This will reduce the pain to a pinch.  What ever you do don't move and it will be over before you know it.  Your mother will receive pamphlet on the concerns dealing with your injections.  But remember you got some already and your mom will know what kind of side effects, if any, you had.
