A chickenhawk was a civilian supporter of the military during the Vietnam era and a REMF is a military member who is in the rear hence the term "rear echlon mutha f**ker" or Pogue. We still have REMFs and chickenhawk is now slang for childmolesters in prison and sometimes for the streets.
