Im chief Bridesmaid for my best friend in 2 weeks - but jobs keep coming up!

I have no problem with helping her and being there as much as I possibly can but have I missed anything that im supposed to be doing? (Just so i dont realise at the last minute.)

I have offered to do the 'Old, new, borrowed, blue' thing but she already has it sorted. I am paying for my own hair, makeup, shoes, dress and handbag - because she asked me to. Which I didnt mind but I have also had to buy a expensive bra because thats the only one that sat right underneath my dress.

I have organised the hen night and paid for everything for the girls and bride - am I supposed to pay for everything?

  1. you dont pay for this, it's all the bride's duty, I've never heard of anybody being used as badly as you (over a wedding), Please try to get her to pay you back, if she refuses threaten to spoil the wedding, she's not much of a friend. The hen night is paid for by the bride and drinks by everyone, you've been treated appallingly.

  2. The Chief Bridesmaid is not to act as a bank.  It is simply to help her with her dress, hair, make up on the big day.  The little things that drive her insane on her big day like that curl being out of place...be there with hairspray for her.  Also carry a bag of her make up for those little touch ups she may need.  You are to be there for her to lean on, not walk over.

  3. No, Chief Bridesmaid doesn't mean chief of the wallet. It's up to the bride to pay. Just look 'pretty' and keep the other girls in line.

  4. Crikey. If I had treated my best friend who was my MOH like that I would have expected her to tell me to 'stuff it!'. Where on Earth did she get the idea that you should pay for your outfit? That is not the tradition here in the UK, and you should have said so!
