does anyone know if they are a descendant of Chief SittingBull or know anyone who is

Im trying to put together my family tree

I know some names are hard to trace

Ancestry.com was somewhat helpful

  1. Yes Sitting Bull has grandchildren and great-grandchildren living in central New Mexico. Joan Sitting Bull was featured in the photo-journal 'Great Americans' by K.K. Ottensen. Joan is also active in the UNM community.

    The Wikipedia article on Sitting Bull has some of the family names with several forms and many have the two Lakota spellings. I guess you know Lakota names change as a person progresses through his life.
