AC Chievo Verona defender, Andrea Mantovani, has been linked with several Italian clubs for an expected move. This rumour was confirmed by the stopper’s agent, Graziano Battistini, in a press conference on Tuesday.
The player has been scouted by several Italian and foreign clubs for some time now, owing much to his performance in the Gialloblu backline. His agent has now confirmed the exit rumours. “Clubs in Italy and abroad would like him,” said Battistini.
Further explaining his client, he said, “Those sides are in Italy and abroad, especially in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 where their market is very active at this moment in time.”
The player was purchased by Chievo in 2005 after he served his hometown outfit, Torino FC from 2003 to 2005. However, the player had to work hard for a place in the team. The Flying Donkeys purchased him in 2005 and then immediately sold him to Juventus
FC in a co-ownership deal for a nominal fee of 1,000 Euros.
However, Mussi Volanti’s side struck lucky the following year. In the wake of 2006 Italian football scandal, Juventus terminated all the ongoing co-ownership contracts and 26-year-old was sold back to Chievo for a fee of 301,000 Euros. The left-back has
served the club regularly ever since. Owing much to his physique, the player has made a permanent place in Stefano Pioli’s pecking order.
During the last five years with Ceo, Mantovani has appeared in Yellow-Blue jersey 126 times and despite playing as a fullback, the player has tallied nine goals. In 2008, Mantovani was offered a 4-year contract that tied him with the outfit until 2012. However,
