Chignon favourite for Seabay Corporation Handicap
Chignon is expected to win the Seabay Corporation Handicap at Brighton in England on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. A cash prize of £2,458 will be awarded to the winner of the class-5 event.
The going will be soft in the 1 mile, 1 furlong and 209 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 20:30 GMT, and following runners have been attracted towards it: Chignon, Seven Veils, Santadelacruze, Altona, Moment In Time, Welsh Nayber and You Got
The Love.
Kiwayu and Renegotiate were also scheduled to take part in the race, but their names have been withdrawn because of the track conditions. They were two of the least favourites to win today, as their performances at this level have been below par.
However, the excitement level will still be the same at Brighton, as there are some very good runners taking part in the race. One of them is Chignon, who is carrying a terrific momentum right now. It will be difficult to stop her from taking the top
spot, as the conditions will suit her more than anyone else. Due to this, the punters will be eager to place a lot of bets on hers.
The three-year-old filly has participated in four races until now, winning one of them and finishing fifth on a couple of times. There was only one occasion, where he delivered a disappointing show. However, he has the tools to make a solid comeback
today.
In his most recent outing, the Sir Henry Cecil’s trainee gave a dominant performance, as he managed to win by almost one length. He was rated as the joint favourite to win and lived up to the expectations of everyone in the end. A similar show will
definitely put him on top of the table today.
The favourite runner will be partnered by Tom Queally, who has won numerous races at this level, but has a poor strike rate. He will need to be a lot more consistent in order to attract more bets in the future.
Other than Chignon, there is a chance for Seven Veils to fight for victory at Brighton. However, she will have to be at her best in order to do so.
