Chihuahua with sprained leg?

I have a 6 month old Chi who is about 3 pounds. This morning we were outside and she jumped to get a toy and fell backwards and started yipping in pain. She couldnt walk on it, so I took her to the vet for Xrays. He said it was a sprain and to ice it. So I am, but she still cant walk on it. I am wondering how long before she can walk or even be back to normal. She isnt making noise or anything, but I can tell she isnt feeling well. What else can I do for her?

Your vet gave you the wrong advice.  Take her back to the vet and get her rimydal or deramaxx.  Your dog needs steroids for a day or two.

Go back to the vet (or to different vet) and get testing done to make sure she did not tear any ligaments. Dogs can tear ligaments just like humans and they then act just as you are describing. If she did tear a ligament she may need surgery but there might be other options. I hope for your dog's sake that she did not tear anything. It sucks to have to watch your dog when you know she is hurting.
