  1. All kids are different. My kids did not start until they were 15 months :)

  2. I wouldn't worry about it to much. I would however try to play with his legs to strengthen them. Make it fun for him!!! Do silly stuff!! Good luck!!

  3. 12 months is about the 'average' for learning to walk, but some babies are walking as early as 9-10 months, and some healthy, normal toddlers don't walk until 16-18 months.

    He has plenty of time.

Is he meeting his milestones in other ways?  Pulling up? Sitting up? Crawling or getting around in some fashion? If so, he's fine.  If not, presumably the doctor would have discussed it with you at his one year check-up.)

  4. Don't worry he will!!!!! drs say they dont start worrying until 17 months. My 14 month old just barely started walking and doesn't do it all the time yet. Some babies just know its faster to get around crawling so why use the extra energy?

  5. My first daughter walked at ten months.  When my second daughter came and at ten, eleven, and twelve months she did not walk I was worried sick that something was very wrong with her.  I talked to her pediatrician and other mothers who told me to relax because she was not late, my first was just early with everything.  My second and third babies both walked in thier thirteenth month.  I worked at a daycare in the infant toddler rooms and have seen a few babies not walk until eighteen months.  So your baby is definetly in the normal range.

  6. All children develop at different speeds.  My son started to walk on his own at 13-14 months.

  7. walking is one of those milestones that have a wide range for being normal; 9-18 months. i know healthy babies that walked at 9 months and some that have walked at 15. most children walk a few weeks before or a few weeks after their first birthday.

  8. They are all different around 12-15 mths is average, if he is not walking by 18 mths, then start to be concerned.

  9. There is such a wide range of "normal" when it comes to walking. Some children do it as early as eight-months old, some do it at eighteen-months old. And both are considered within the normal range. I don't think pediatricians get worried until after eighteen-months old provided that the child is making progress toward walking (cruising, standing alone for short periods of time, etc...).

  10. The average is not actually until around 13 months, so you still have time.
