Question:

Child's development skills?

I have a child development project and need to explain different things that a board game can teach to a 3-5 year old. I already have Fine and Gross motor skills and memory.

The game is a disney board game including dice and cards where a child or adult reads the card and the child preforms the objective, such as dancing or jumping and down to move towards the end.

Does anyone know of other skills a child could learn from this game?

  1. Social/ emotional-- turn taking, eye contact, conversation skills, learning to be a good sport.

Pre-academics-- Counting, colors, shapes, memory, concentration, alphabet.

    Fine Motor--manipulating the game pieces.

You could get creative and have a board game address many different skills.

    Good luck!

  2. Social/emotional -- interacting with family, etc.

The can build self esteem -- if they get and answer right and get to move forward in the game then they will feel good about themselves.

Sorry, thats all i can think of.

  3. concentration...?

  4. 1 they are learning to count

    2 turn taking/sharing

    3 learning to take instruction
