Well i'm 13 and know my mother is getting benefits for me and brother. We are twins so were both 13. I just opened a new bank accound with Natwest with my dad who told me you can now get your benefits paid straight into your account. But the benefits get paid into my mums accounts and my parents are getting a divorce so i can't get my dad to do it for me.

So i wanted to ask how do i get it paid into my account no my mums account and soon as though it my money i don't see why it should be paid into her account soon as though i can't see it coming in.

Where do i have to go to do it as well. Ami even entitled to get it.

Im not sure what account out benefits is going to either i just no i get child benefits.

Also if this helps i have an older brother but he's 17 so he's doesn't get it any more.

Thanks

  1. You don't, your Dad is just being silly. The benefits are paid to your mum so that she can look after you. You don't get paid benefits, your mum does

  2. Child Benefit is not for the child, why on earth do you think the government would pay you pocket money. Child benefit is payed to all parents regardless of their financial status to help towards the upkeep of a child. It is paid directly to the primary carer. You are not now and never will be entitled to that money.

Your mother can choose to give you the moeny if she so wishes, my mother used to give us the child benefit - these days it's around £75 per month, but in return we had to buy all our own clothes and shoes.

  3. Who ever told you that lied there backside off, child benefit is a state benefit paid to parents of children under 16 or 19 ifthere still in full time education. It will never be paid to you, its there to pay for your food each week. Not as a job substitute, if you want money and your mums not given it to you work for it, paper round, babysitter .........

  4. They won't put it into your account, you are just a child. If you feel your mum is not using it for what it's intended for you need to sort it out with her.

  5. child benefit as foe the parents to help with costs so i know you wuld like it but your not entilted to it i also think your mum can get in trouble payin it to you.

  6. Child benefits are paid to your parents to help towards your upkeep - they don't get paid to you so you can spend them!

  7. bless you. it paid to your mum because it for your clothes n food n bus fares. it really isn't that much money.

you will be able to receive child benefits when you have children. it seems to me like you are in the middle of your parents and don't know where to turn. just remember that they both love you and need you. take care x try ringing the citizen advice bureau as they can tell you what  you need to know. you will probably find that they won't pay it to you because of your age x
