what if I had en appointment and I forgot about it, do I not get it then?

in california if he didn't show up either the case would be closed and you will have to refile.

custody and child support are two different issues.

If you didn't show up. it can be really bad for you because you may automatically lose and your (ex) partner may get everything they want!

You don't give much detail, but some courts and child support agencies can do "default judgments" if you don't appear as scheduled. I suggest immediately contacting the place you were supposed to have your appointment with and learn the consequences.

     Court is serious business and dockets are over-crowded. You risk a lot when you miss your chance and "I forgot" is not an acceptable excuse. Would you "forget" to feed your child? Wake up and shape up ... NOW!
