Child abuse shelters in New York City?

hey, I'm the head of a volunteer group called "Alternative Winter Experience", which goes through the nation dealing with a wide aspect of social needs. We are heading to New York City this winter and I'm trying to find some good child abuse shelters for my group to volunteer for. any suggestions on some good shelters in that area?

There are no child abuse shelters in NYC.  Foster care is where children are placed.
